Sash spring and sash box windows

Sash spring and sash box windows stands out for its design as they create authentic style and give the feeling of perfectness and naturalness. Timber windows can be decorated with timber transoms to make the look of several glazes inside it. Transoms can be wooden attached to both sides of the glaze. The measurements can be 18-22mm width and 12-19mm height depends on timber window width.

Sash window consists of frame and two sashes with glazes which slides vertically. Sashes operates with help of springs or lead weights. The timber windows are produces from three-layer glued beam – pine, meranti, oak etc. Fenestrum mostly uses imported pine beam as it is much higher quality than Baltic pine (is perfectly dried). Fenestrum uses exclusively only Teknos (Finland) coating materials – paints and varnishes. The clients can choose the colour from RAL palette or from Teknos palette which can be found on our website.

Sash windows can be manufactured with different type of glaze. Most often Fenestrum uses double glaze with one glass coated with selective coating and U-value 1.1-1.4 W/m2K. If client requires Fenestrum uses “safety” glazing (tempered or laminated glasses), reflective, satin or any other glazes. If client requires better U-value Fenestrum offer a warm TGI edge which comes in white, grey, and black colours.

High quality Pickard and other hardware delivered to Fenestrum straightly from the United Kingdom to maintain authenticity of its timber windows.

Casement flush and casement stormproof windows

Another type of windows manufactured for the United Kingdom market are casement flush and casement stormproof windows. These windows are outward-open

Often casement flush and stormproof windows are decorated with timber transoms attached directly on a glaze and a duplex inside it to make the window to look as it has several glazes. The measurements of the transoms are just the same as in sash windows: 18-22mm width and 12-19mm height depends on casement sash or stormproof window height.

In other words, casement flush and casement stormproof window look similar like European type 78mm and 100mm windows. The main difference is that casement flush and stormproof windows are outward-open and 78mm and 100mm windows are inward-open. Casement flush has a frame which is 56x94mm, the upper part of sash is 60x57mm, lower part is 70x57mm. Standardly Fenestrum produces a classic-type casement flush window with one sealing meanwhile casement stormproof window has 2 sealings. Thanks to experienced Fenestrum’s team and wide range of tools the company can modify these profiles and adapt the window to the client’s needs.
